Almost not a day goes by now without an article somewhere about the rising danger of right wing extremism and why aren’t we following the colossal joke of a “nation” Cucknada/Canuckistan/Canada in banning the Proud Boys and other groups. So there’s clearly a big push for this to happen, and it’s going to happen at some point probably.
Currently the number of “Listed terrorist organisations” in Australia is 27 strong, and 100% Muslim, and most of them are obscure and would have no real presence here, even if they weren’t banned. These are the only grounds currently used to ban a group:
- is directly or indirectly engaged in preparing, planning, assisting or fostering the doing of a terrorist act
- advocates the doing of a terrorist act
There is one very old and fairly large group that is not on the list, which is Hizbut Tahrir, or Hizb ut-Tahrir. These people advocate for an Islamic state and are full of all sorts of “hate”, but, they are quite clear that they don’t advocate violence in order to achieve anything. There have been instances of Hizbut Tahrir members or supporters voicing support for terrorist acts committed by others, but these are just individuals and Hizbut Tahrir itself is not involved in anything violent as an organisation. That’s the main reason they are not banned here, although they are in most Muslim countries, and soon to be Muslim countries and general basket cases of oppression like Germany.
The point is, this is the normal way to do it here, the principle, only advocating and, above all organising, of violence is cause for banning (there are arguments for banning Hizbut Tahrir on other, nationalist grounds but that is a distraction here and we’re thinking in realistic current year terms), because that is terrorism, and as far as we know none of these right wing groups like Proud Boys, Lads’ Society, and National Socialist Network do anything illegal nor suggest to anyone to do anything illegal, least of all terrorism. There are going to be individuals, young men, not very bright men, who will say stupid things on telegram chats or whatever, but the people who run the groups can kick them off.
Meanwhile the accelerationist goons among these people like the Aryan campers need to understand the very real and very nasty consequences of being declared part of a terrorist organisation, and one of them is, apart from the obvious being a member, recruiting for, funding, etc:
It is also an offence to associate with a listed terrorist organisation. This is subject to certain exemptions. Anyone guilty of terrorist organisation offences can face imprisonment for up to 25 years.
25 years, and some or all of it will be in total isolation. If you understand this, don’t care about anyone else, are a single man, no dependents, and have accepted the possibility of it, then acceleratively knock yourself out tough guy. If not, shut your goon mouth. It’s probably going to happen, the bannings, but shut up your goon face anyway.
