The protest on Saturday was quite small, as the police had shut down much of public transport and turned the CBD and some of its surrounds into a fortress, forcing protestors to congregate in nearby Richmond, but even a small group of people can have a big impact as some of the visuals from the event have ‘gone viral’ and you’ve got people like Jordan Petersen retweeting videos like this:

On that same street, which is the road out of Richmond/Burnley towards Hawthorn, a 70 year old woman was pushed to the ground and pepper sprayed for no reason and this very well done little video has various angles of the hit on grandma:

It’s not clear yet the name of the officer who pushed her down, but Constable Matthew Jeffs, badge number either 41751 or 41761, may or may not be the one who sprays her first (and seemed to be yelling in some sort of war cry fashion as he sprayed, manfully, heroically).
