In March 2019 St. Brittany Higgins of Canberra, the newly consecrated patron saint of stupid young women who get pass out drunk in the company of men they are not related or married to, was apparently dicked in Parliament House by a man who may or may not have been Bruce Lehrmann. She says in the two years afterwards she carried out a process of “internalising the trauma” of the event, and everyone is thrilled for her that she has now successfully completed this trauma internalising business and has made a complaint to police about the incident.
Firstly, I want a comprehensive police investigation into what happened to me … and for my perpetrator to face the full force of the law.
Brittany claims that the day after the sordid sexy events she insinuated to Liberal Party figures, including her boss at the time, defence minister Linda Reynolds, that she had been raped, but without actually saying she had been raped and from then on:
I was failed repeatedly [by Liberal politicians/staffers] but I now have my voice and I am determined to use it to ensure that this is never allowed to happen to another member of staff again.
It has now come out that Reynolds openly and misogynistically referred to St. Brittany as a “lying cow” not a few weeks ago, though the “lying” bit refers to St. Brittany’s recollection of her dealings with Reynolds two years ago, not the rape. Reynolds is probably not long for it now, and no one will miss the… cow.
In any case, some would say St. Brittany could have just gone straight to the police and no one would have “failed” the dear girl, the police would have had that man in a lock up cell same day, as there is nothing policemen love more than white knighting for (sort of) pretty women with industrial sized boobs.
In fact in April 2019 she did speak to Federal Police about the incident, but did not wish to make a formal complaint. Now, as is her right as a woman, she has changed her mind, possibly because she needed to go through that trauma internalisation process first, and also continue with her “dream job” for a few years longer, and this is indeed understandable, and no one should question it.
