Covid Fear Porn: crazy women are seeing monkeys in the house

2 January 2021 , by Ned Bullwinkel

The Herald Sun doing it’s best to scare people:

Rare COVID complications: stroke, psychosis, acute liver injury, acute brain disease and heart failure

The article is so full of falsehoods and fear porn, but, first a positive – on the issue of complications (or “long covid”) they at least admit it’s rare.

One of the nastiest sounding of these complications is psychosis, ie. if you get Covid you might go INSANE. They put it in the article headline, but this is all they say about it:

It can even cause psychosis and one woman with COVID claimed to have seen lions and monkeys in her house, became disoriented and aggressive towards others, and was convinced that her husband was an impostor.

If you get COVID you too may see various wild animals stampeding around your house, and your dear spouse, previously all too familiar, may become a stranger to you, which could conceivably spice things up at least momentarily, until the medication they give you brings you back to mundane “same old Fanny/Dick” reality,… but despite the article saying 77.8 million people have contracted it so far they can only come up with one woman as an example (it had to be a woman). There ought to be criminal penalties for this kind of fear mongering.

The flu may also bring on such events, and a lot more times than one woman:

  • Neuropsych Complications of the Flu Virus – Emergency Physicians Monthly
  • The neuropsychiatric aspects of influenza/swine flu – Industrial Psychiatry Journal
  • Influenza Infection Causing Manic Psychosis – British Journal of Psychiatry
  • Schizophrenia and Influenza at the Centenary of the 1918-1919 Spanish Influenza Pandemic: Mechanisms of Psychosis Risk – Frontiers in Psychiatry

Apart from psychosis they list stroke, acute liver injury, acute brain disease and heart failure.

Just as one more example, stroke, the flu can also contribute to that:

  • Flu & People with Heart Disease or History of Stroke – CDC
  • Flu May Raise Chance of Stroke, Neck Artery Tears – WebMD
  • Flu-like illness raises the risk of stroke – Medical News Today
  • Lower your heart attack and stroke risk with a flu shot – Harvard Health Publishing

The obvious point: if you are susceptible to things like mental problems, or are already unhealthy and at risk of stroke or heart failure, or whatever, then getting sick with a flu like virus is in a minority of cases going to in an obvious or serious way exacerbate or trigger things. News at 11.
